The Access and Opportunity Fund is the embodiment of Little League’s core value of inclusivity, focused on breaking down barriers of entry and creating new, transformative ways to participate in the program. This fund provides opportunities to increase diversity including support of the Little League Urban Initiative, provide more opportunities to champion girls’ experiences in the Little League programming, and encourage inclusiveness in volunteerism through unique training programs that focus on creating positive environments for kids to participate and grow.
Philanthropy
For nearly a century, children around the world have benefited from the experience of Little League®. As the most trusted organization in youth sports, Little League believes in bringing the benefits of participation to as many children and communities as possible.
Through organized grant programs that support registration fees, equipment grants, volunteer training programs, and assistance after natural disasters, Little League is committed to helping the communities we serve through fundraising and philanthropy.
Little League launched its formal fundraising efforts in 2025 with opportunities to support several key funding priorities, ranging from Disaster Relief and Equipment Support to Volunteer Recognition and the World Series Experience. These identified priorities are part of the organization’s efforts to support its mission and build more opportunities for kids to play. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, Little League is a tax-exempt organization; any donation given to support Little League is tax deductible.
The Impact of Philanthropy
The 2024 season was one of celebration, as we reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring the Little League experience is inclusive and accessible for all. From honoring 50 years of amazing females who continue to step up to the plate through our Girls with Game 50 Celebration, to equipping underserved leagues through our Urban Initiative and establishing a disaster relief fund to address the impact of devastations on local leagues, we continue to evaluate and address the growing needs of the communities we serve to ensure long-lasting, positive change.

Impact In Action
Year over year, local leagues continue to experience devastating effects from natural disasters, but as communities begin the long road to recovery, Little League is committed to ensuring that baseball and softball fields — and the equipment kids need — are ready when they are. Little League® Baseball and Softball fields are more than places to play. They are places where communities heal and often become the first sense of normalcy for families after a disaster by offering a place to gather. “This grant will have an incredible impact. The greatest impact of the flooding involved our community. Our opinion is that all of these kids need a win right now,” said Mark Hensley, Ingram Little League President. “We’ve already seen an increase in our registration for next year. There are a lot of kids and parents that are looking forward to getting out on these fields. It’s going to be a great thing for this community.”
“It’s hard to believe that the disaster occurred over a year ago and significant progress in Asheville and the surrounding areas has occurred. One area that is under major renovation is our home field Weaver Park. Currently, our home field at Weaver Park is undergoing a major renovation and hopefully it will be completed prior to the start of the 2026 season. Once completed, it will have a new batting cage that will be a welcome addition to the players experience. I can also say the Carl E. Stotz Community of the Year Award’s grant will be going to good use this spring as our board approved the purchase of a new lawn mower to greatly help with the field maintenance for all our fields. While there will be still challenges ahead, Asheville and NALL have stepped up to ensure the children of the area can continue to have a fantastic Little League experience. We are thankful for the support of Little League and look forward to great 2026 season.”
“Our league’s funds were close to dry heading into the spring season, but we made it through, and the Little League Disaster Relief funds came at a perfect time for us to ensure we finished the spring well, had a great All Star season (which we were lucky enough to win state for back to back seasons), and ensure we could fund our fall season. Without the Little League Disaster Relief funds, our fall season would not have been up to our standards, but the kids hardly noticed a difference from our excellent standards thanks to this support.”
“One year ago, our shed and kitchen were completely wiped out and destroyed, but thanks to the support of the Little League Disaster Relief Fund, we’re back in business! We’ve used our grant to redo our flooring, purchased new stainless steel kitchen tables for concessions stand, and got shelving for our equipment shed.”
Social Impact
We prioritize inclusion as the intentional part of our culture, which is created when we provide equitable opportunities, access, and respect for individual differences and perspectives. As the world’s largest youth sports organization, it is our responsibility to lead the way and be at the forefront of making significant, positive changes that address pressing social challenges. As an organization, thanks to the continued support of our partners and supporters, we remain committed to focusing on key strategic priorities including:
Remove barriers to participation, including financial and family circumstances, and create opportunities to promote the inclusion of female participants and volunteers in Little League.
Employ a player-focused philosophy in all aspects of the Little League program, including strategic planning, decision-making, resource allocation, and customer service tactics.
Implement a league acquisition strategy that creates opportunities for turnkey affiliation, focus on attracting the youngest players, and utilize game modifications to stimulate more interest.
