ST. LOUIS CARDINALS PITCHER, LITTLE LEAGUE® ALUM LANCE LYNN JOINS LITTLE LEAGUERS® FOR APPEARANCE ON ESPN’S BASEBALL TONIGHT: SUNDAY NIGHT COUNTDOWN

Little League Baseball® World Series alum Lance Lynn of the St. Louis Cardinals, center, is joined by players from the Jerseyville (Mo.) Little League. Each Sunday night during the Major League Baseball season, Little Leaguers from the host city will be included as part of ESPN’s Baseball Tonight: Sunday Countdown pregame show.

Playing in the Little League Baseball® World Series and the Major League Baseball World Series places St. Louis Cardinals’ reliever Lance Lynn in a special group of ballplayers. Last Sunday, on ESPN’s Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown, he spent time with another special group of ballplayers — the Jerseyville (Mo.) Little League (JLL).

During the pregame show for that evening’s game, Mr. Lynn, who played in the 1999 Little League Baseball World Series for Brownsburg (Ind.) Little League, met with the JLL team in the Cardinals’ dugout. The players had an opportunity to interview Mr. Lynn, meet several other MLB players, and pose for pictures.

MLB, ESPN, and Little League® International have teamed up for this new initiative where local Little League programs will be featured on Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown during the network’s Sunday-night MLB coverage throughout the regular season.
