PLAY BALL with Your Parents on Howard J. Lamade Stadium This Father’s Day During Annual “Have A Catch” Event

2019 Father's Day PLAY BALL Event

This Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, the World of Little League®: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store, located at 525 U.S. 15, will be offering its visitors a unique opportunity to play catch on the outfield grass of Howard J. Lamade Stadium, the home of the Little League Baseball® World Series. As part of the event, all fathers will also receive free admission to the Museum.

For the fifth-straight year, all fathers, mothers, and caregivers who tour the World of Little League Museum on Father’s Day will be invited to play catch with their children from noon to 3 p.m. inside Lamade Stadium, the same field used by kids from all over the world in August during the LLBWS. This event marks one of the only opportunities where fans can come out and step foot on to Lamade Stadium’s fields and enjoy a memorable day with their families.

In addition, Little League International, in coordination with Major League Baseball’s “PLAY BALL” initiative, will be offering participants of the “Have a Catch” event on Lamade Stadium a goodie bag including an official PLAY BALL Bat Kit, Gatorade squeeze bottle, and other giveaways, while supplies last. Launched by MLB and USA Baseball in 2015 as an effort to encourage youth participation in both formal and casual baseball and softball activities, the PLAY BALL initiative provides a great opportunity for future baseball and softball players of all ages to experience the game in a fun, free-play environment with their friends, family, and other kids from communities around the world.

Parents are required to sign waivers and all participants must have a ticket from visiting the Museum that Sunday to gain entrance to the field. Participants should bring their own gloves. Baseball bats are not allowed.

Along with the Father’s Day event, the World of Little League Museum is also participating in the National Blue Star Museums Program, a nationwide program that opens more than 2,000 museums at no cost to veterans and active military personnel with proper identification. The Blue Star Museum program operates from Armed Forces Day (May 18) through Labor Day (Sept. 3), however, the World of Little League Museum also offers free admission for veterans every day.
