Little League® Welcomes Six New Members to the International Advisory Board

Little League® International announced the addition of six new members to the International Advisory Board who visited the Little League International Complex in South Williamsport, Pa., on October 14 and 15 for the annual fall meeting. Joining the Advisory Board in 2016 are Kelly Campbell (Southwestern Region), Carmine Conti (Eastern Region), Martin Hoover (Western Region), Michael Marler (Southwestern Region), Eric Pearson (Southeastern Region), and Steve Parris (Latin America Region), who all serve as volunteer District Administrators (D.A.s).

Kelly Campbell, Cypress, Texas, is the District Administrator for Texas District 16. Serving as D.A for the past three years, he has been a Little League volunteer for 15 years. During his time at the local league level, he has served in a variety of capacities, including two years as a League President, four years as Player Agent, three years as Facility Manager, eight years as a team manager, and two years as the league’s Equipment Director.

Carmine Conti, Lambertville, N.J., has been a District Administrator for New Jersey District 7 for the last 11 years and has served as a Little League volunteer for over 35 years. His service to Little League started as a coach at the age of 16 and since then he has coached and managed for approximately 30 years. After serving as the Vice President of Baseball for Princeton Little League for six years, Mr. Conti served as an Assistant District Administrator for eight years before taking over in his current role as D.A.

Martin Hoover, Hesperia, Calif., will be heading into his fifth year as a District Administrator in California District 49 and has been a volunteer with Little League since 2000 when he attended the Junior Umpire Training Academy at the West Region Headquarters in San Bernardino, Calif. During his time as a volunteer, Martin has served as an umpire, Equipment Director, League Secretary, League President, and League Vice President before taking over as a D.A. In 2011, he was selected as a representative of the West Region to serve as an umpire at the Little League Softball® World Series in Portland, Ore., and currently serves as the Scorekeeping Committee Chairman for the Softball West Regional Tournament.

Michael Marler, Alexandria, La., has been a District Administrator for Louisiana District 3 since 2009 and has been a Little League volunteer since 2000. During his time with Little League, he has served as a junior umpire, senior umpire, Umpire in Chief (U.I.C.), League President, District U.I.C., and the manager of the Cenla Civitan and Alexandria Little League. Mr. Marler has also served on the Southwest Region Advisory Board for the past three years, has served as an umpire at the 2008 Senior League Softball Southwest Region Tournament and 2009 Senior League Softball World Series, and has helped host the Senior League Softball Southwest Region Tournament since 2009.

Eric Pearson, Parrish, Fla., has been serving as a District Administrator since 2007, moving between three Districts in Florida during that time, and has been a Little League volunteer for 23 years. Eric is currently serving as the D.A. for Florida District 12 and after playing for Eustis Little League from 1977 to 80, has served as a manager for Eustis Little League and Braden River Little League, the Vice President and President for Braden River Little League, an Assistant District Administrator for Florida District 26 and a D.A. for Florida District 26, Florida District 8, and now in Florida District 12. As part of his role with Little League, Mr. Pearson has hosted the Senior League Southeast Region Baseball Tournament since 2014 and has assisted with running two District Tournaments during his tenure as a D.A.

Steve Parris, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, has been a District Administrator in the Virgin Islands Little League District since 2011 and has been a volunteer with Little League for over 20 years where he started as a coach and umpire. Throughout his 20-year career, Steve has serve as an umpire in 10 Latin American Regional Tournaments as well as the 2004 Big League World Series in Easley, S.C., and in 2004 was named an Assistant District Administrator. During his tenure, the Virgin Islands has successfully hosted three Regional Tournaments.
