Little League® mourns the passing of Charles Buckner, former District Administrator (D.A.) for Texas District 7.
Owner of his own HVAC company, Bucker was known for his honesty, skill, and compassion, often helping individuals without expectation of recognition. In addition, he was committed to giving back to his country, serving in the United States Navy.
For nearly 25 years, Buckner was a vital asset to the Little League program and stepped up to the plate every season. Although he never played baseball himself, he earned widespread trust and respect for his fairness, leadership, and dedication to the families and communities he served.
Buckner is survived by his children, Blake Buckner, Aaron Buckner, his wife Gean, and their son Murat; Brandie Smith and her husband Robert; along with his sister-in-law Patricia Caldwell, family friend John Chesney, and many extended family members and friends. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to the Little Leaguers® in his district, as well as his service to his community, which will forever inspire all who knew him.
