Little League® Congratulates Former Little Leaguer® Brent Musburger on Retirement

Little League® Baseball and Softball congratulates legendary sports broadcaster and notable Little League graduate, Brent Musburger, on an illustrious career in sports broadcasting.

Mr. Musburger, who served as a Little League Baseball® World Series broadcaster for 15 years, including each tournament from 2000-2011, announced that he will be ending his play-by-play career with ABC/ESPN at the end of January 2017, with his final broadcast coming on Jan. 31.

For Mr. Musburger, serving play-by-play at the Little League Baseball World Series was only a piece of his Little League experience as he played baseball for Billings (Mont.) Little League, the league that his father, Cec Musburger, is credited with finding in the mid-1950s. Last summer, a field at Billings Little League was dedicated in Cec Musburger’s name and Brent and his brother, Todd, were in attendance for the ceremony.

“I grew up on the Little League field in Billings, Montana, and my dad was my coach. That introduction to baseball fueled a lifelong interest in sports,” said Brent Musburger in Play Ball! The Story of Little League Baseball®.
