Jake Gallaway Promoted to Little League® West Region Assistant Director

Little League® International has announced the promotion of Jake Gallaway from West Region Coordinator to West Region Assistant Director, based at the West Region Headquarters in San Bernardino, California, effective as of May 16, 2022.

“On behalf of all of us at Little League International, and our staff at the West Region Headquarters, we are proud to announce this well-deserved promotion,” said Dan Velte, Little League Senior Operations Executive. “As we look ahead to the future of the West Region, including the addition of a new region champion represented at each our Little League Baseball and Softball World Series events starting in 2022, we are thankful for Jake’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to this organization and look forward to his continued support.”

Mr. Gallaway joined the Little League team in 2020 amidst the coronavirus pandemic as a West Region Coordinator and has helped provide support and guidance to the thousands of volunteers across the 11 states in the region during that time. Additionally, Mr. Gallaway assisted in operating the 2021 Little League Softball® West Region Tournament, as well as the Little League Baseball® Northwest and West Region Tournaments. Prior to joining the Little League staff, Mr. Gallaway held various coaching positions, including Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach for Santiago High School in Corona, Calif., as well as at his alma mater, California Baptist University (CBU), as an Undergraduate/Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach. Mr. Gallaway graduated from CBU with a degree in kinesiology in 2016.

“I am thankful for this opportunity to increase my role and responsibilities here at the West Region and for being able to continue supporting the overall efforts of Little League Baseball and Softball,” said Mr. Gallaway. “I look forward to working alongside our great staff here in San Bernardino, and most importantly the dedicated volunteers who make our program so special in communities all throughout our region.”

Reporting to the new West Region Director, Kit Golden, Mr. Gallaway will work alongside fellow Assistant Region Director, Andrew Cortez, to continue to assist with the day-to-day operation of the West Region headquarters and support the volunteers and players throughout the region. Some of those duties will include working with leagues throughout the region to enhance operations, developing and implementing training programs, and the operation of the annual Region Tournaments and other on-site events.

The Little League West Region Headquarters Complex includes Al Houghton Stadium, a Little League-Division size field that is used for the Region Tournaments, and serves districts and local leagues in 11 states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming).
