Little League® Remembers Former Delaware District 1 Administrator Evelyn Deakins

Little League® International mourns the passing of Evelyn Deakins, former District Administrator (D.A.) for Delaware District 1.

Dedicating her life to serving her community, Deakins spent more than thirty years with Family Services and another ten years with the American Red Cross. Most notably, Deakins devoted more than thirty-five years to Little League Baseball® in Delaware as a District Administrator. Her extraordinary leadership earned her the distinction of becoming the first woman inducted into the Delaware Baseball Hall of Fame, leaving a legacy that will forever be etched in history.

Deakins was predeceased by her husband, Cecil (Deak), and by her son Dennis. She is survived by her son, John, and his wife, Terri; her four grandchildren; and her twelve great-grandchildren. Deakins will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to her family and the hundreds of Little Leaguers, as well as her decades of service to her community, which will forever inspire all who knew her.
