From the Vault: October 2026

From the Vault Museum Logo

As visitors of all ages walk the halls of The World of Little League® Museum, they get a first-hand look at hundreds of artifacts, photos, and videos that connect them to the people and moments in history that made the Little League® program what it is today. But what is on display does not tell the full story.

“From the Vault” is a monthly content series showcasing exhibits and artifacts on display for visitors to see in person, as well as items currently “hidden” in the vaults. In October 2026, Adam Thompson, Director of The World of Little League Museum, gives fans a closer look at two artifacts “from the vault” – a baseball hit by Babe Ruth in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on October 31, 1923; and three generations of Little League bats. Plus, Thompson gives a sneak peek of an item on display for visitors to see for themselves – the helmet and gloves worn by NHL superstar and three-time Olympian, Chris Drury.

From the Vault: Babe Ruth’s Halloween Home Run Ball

What does legendary Major Leaguer Babe Ruth have to do with Halloween in Williamsport? A baseball. On October 31, 1923, Ruth and a team of All-Stars traveled to Central Pennsylvania for an exhibition game. Join Thompson as he gives a close up look at the item that helps preserve the story of the day one of baseball’s greatest stars came to Williamsport.

From the Vault: Generations of “Bats”

In October, Thompson and the World of Little League Museum team thought it was time to bring some bats out of the vault. But these bats don’t fly, sleep upside down, or bite. Join Thompson as he takes you through a deep dive into three different generations of Little League bats – wood, aluminum, and the bat used in the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania.

On Display: NHL Superstar Chris Drury’s Olympic Helmet and Gloves

In 1989, Chris Drury helped Trumbull National Little League from Connecticut reach the Little League Baseball® World Series. In the Championship game against Chinese Taipei, Drury was the winning pitcher. Years later, Drury represented the United States in his first Olympic Winter Games. Now, on display for visitors to see in the World of Little League Museum are the Olympic helmet and gloves worn by Drury. Thompson he gives a sneak peak of what visitors can see on their next trip through the exhibits.
