As visitors of all ages walk the halls of The World of Little League® Museum, they get a first-hand look at hundreds of artifacts, photos, and videos that connect them to the people and moments in history that made the Little League® program what it is today. But what is on display does not tell the full story.
“From the Vault” is a monthly content series showcasing exhibits and artifacts on display for visitors to see in person, as well as items currently “hidden” in the vaults. In September 2026, Adam Thompson, Director of The World of Little League Museum, gives fans a closer look at two artifacts “from the vault” – a uniform from the 1956 Little League Baseball® World Series (LLBWS) and an NFL Super Bowl poster signed by former New York Giants head coach, Tom Coughlin, and quarterback, Eli Manning. Plus, Thompson gives a sneak peek of an item on display for visitors to see for themselves – a case celebrating the 1957 LLBWS Champions and Ángel Macías, the only Little Leaguer® to throw a perfect game in a LLBWS Championship Game.
From the Vault: Seventy Years of Little League Uniforms
Every year, an exciting moment leading up to the start of the Little League World Series tournaments is the uniform unveil. In 2026, the Little Leaguers competing for the seven championship titles ran onto the diamond in a design inspired by auto racing. Designed by adidas, the lightweight materials with bold colors and graphics not only brought the theme to life, but also gave each region its own identity. Join Adam as he compares the 2026 uniforms to those worn 70 years prior during the 1956 international tournament.
From the Vault: Autographed Super Bowl Poster
On February 5, 2012, the New York Giants and New England Patriots faced off in the 46th NFL Super Bowl in Indianapolis. Led by former Little Leaguer and then-head coach Tom Coughlin, the Giants ended the game victorious, beating the Patriots 21-17. Four years later, Coughlin was inducted into the Little League Hall of Excellence, the highest honor Little League can bestow, creating one giant connection to Little League history.
On Display: The “Perfect Game” Case
In 1957, players from Industrial Little League in Monterrey, Mexico, traveled to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to represent what was then known as the South Region in the LLBWS. After an extraordinary run through the tournament, the Industrial Little Leaguers stepped onto the diamond to compete in the World Series Championship game against the West Region. Starting pitcher Ángel Macías retired all 18 batters he faced in that game, and led his teammates to become the first team from outside the United States to hold the World Series Championship banner. Macías’ perfect game remains the only one ever pitched in a LLBWS Championship Game, and case celebrating this historic moment is on display for visitors to see.
