Little League® International mourns the loss of Shippensburg (Pa.) Little League Coach, Bill Wolfe, who was tragically killed along with 58 others in the mass shooting that occurred in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 1.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Shippensburg Little League’s dedicated coach, volunteer, husband, and father,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO. “Our hearts go out to Bill’s family and friends, and to all those who have been affected by this weekend’s tragic events.”

Mr. Wolfe served as a dedicated volunteer coach for the Shippensburg Little League program as well as the wrestling coach at Shippensburg Elementary School.

“We are deeply saddened by Bill’s loss, both as a friend, and as a part of our Little League family,” said Chris Lehman, Shippensburg Little League President, in a joint statement on behalf of the league’s Board of Directors. “As a volunteer with the League for more than six years, Bill has impacted our youth through coaching multiple teams. His leadership, enthusiasm, care, and concern for these children will be greatly missed and certainly never forgotten in this community. We will continue to honor Bill’s legacy here at Doc Norcross Stadium through the continued growth of our organization, and will hold Robyn, the boys, and his family in our prayers.”

In an effort to support the Wolfe family with relief and financial support for the unexpected costs associated with a tragedy so far from home (food, travel, lodging, medical expenses, etc.), a GoFundMe page has been created by the Shippensburg Wrestling program and supported by Shippensburg Little League.
