Little League® International mourns the passing of Joe Morales, California District 18 Administrator. He was 76.
Mr. Morales spent more than 51 years as a Little League volunteer, serving in several capacities, including, manager, umpire, and as a member of the local league’s Board of Directors. He was League President of South El Monte National Little League for more than 16 years.
At the district level, Mr. Morales served as an Assistant District Administrator for many years. In March of 2010, he was presented with the first District 18 Little League Lifetime Achievement Award.
A native of El Monte, Calif., Mr. Morales graduated from El Monte High School. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was employed by the Gallo Wine Company for nearly 45 years.
Mr. Morales is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carmella; daughters, Marla and Ranee; and four granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph.
