Little League® International Honors the Life, Service of Florida District 17 Administrator Dewey Hudman

Little League® International remembers Dewey Hudman, Florida District 17 Administrator. He was 75.

Mr. Hudman, a native of Chilton County, Alabama, was a resident of Port St. Lucie, Florida, at the time of his passing.

A graduate of Auburn University with a degree in electrical engineering, Mr. Hudman relocated to Florida, where he was employed by Florida Power and Light (FPL).

With nearly five decades as a volunteer (47 years) with the Little League program, Mr. Hudman’s service began at the local level (2 years as a coach, 1 as team manager; 1 as League President). He enjoyed a 20-year tenure as Florida District 17 Assistance Administrator. In February of 1999, he was elected as D.A. and held that position for 23 years. During all his years of service, he continued to volunteer as a Little League umpire and was an active member throughout the state of Florida and at the Southeast Region.

Mr. Hudman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lillian; their son, Denny; stepsons, Gary and David Faircloth; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and his brother, Herman.
