Little League® International is pleased to announce the addition of Jason Vereneau as its new East Region Assistant Director, based at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center in Bristol, Connecticut, effective as of December 5, 2022. Mr. Vereneau will work alongside fellow East Region Assistant Director, Taylor Lipinski, and report to East Region Director, Aaron Weber.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jason to our team here in Bristol and are excited to bring his background and experience to our staff as we continue to provide support to our local leagues throughout the region,” said Mr. Weber. “On behalf of our staff in Bristol, and the entire group of volunteers who make the Little League experience possible in the East Region, we are honored to welcome Jason to our Little League team!”
Mr. Vereneau joins the Little League staff after recently graduating from Western New England University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, majoring in sport management. During his collegiate career, Mr. Vereneau spent time with the Orleans Firebirds as a Game Day Operations Intern as well as an Operations Intern for the New Britain Bees. Additionally, he has served as the Program Director for the Skyhawks Sports Academy and was a student assistant for Western New England University athletics. Mr. Vereneau also has served as a volunteer coach for the Miracle League in West Hartford, Connecticut, and was captain of his high school baseball team.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to join an incredible organization that provides kids essential life skills through baseball and softball,” said Mr. Vereneau. “I am ecstatic to be a part of the Little League program and engage with the volunteers, players, and staff throughout the East Region as well as assure the best possible experience for everyone who takes part each year.”
In this role, Mr. Vereneau will assist with the day-to-day operations of the more than 1,700 local leagues within the East Region while providing ongoing support and guidance to all its volunteers at both the district and local league level. Additionally, Mr. Vereneau will support the growth and development of new leagues throughout the region as well as the operation of the Little League Baseball® Mid-Atlantic, Metro, and New England Region Tournaments and Little League Softball® Mid-Atlantic and New England Region Tournaments.
