Baseball Australia Hosts Country’s First Ever All-Female Little League Baseball® National Tournament

For the first time in the Australia’s history, six all-female Little League Baseball® teams, coaches, and volunteers came together in Lismore to compete for the national title in an all-female baseball tournament.

During the five-day event at the beginning of May, the six Little League teams from across the country – New South Wales (NSW), Adelaide, Victoria, Brisbane, and Western Australia – played in five group stage games each before advancing to the consolation, bronze medal, or gold medal championship games. After the girls were done competing for the day, they were able to attend the 2024 Australia Women’s Showcase, an event that brings the country’s best female baseball players, plus nine World Cup players from around the world, together.

On the last day of the event, NSW Blue faced off against the Victoria Belles in the Gold Medal game. After four innings, with nine total hits and all 12 players scoring runs, NSW Blue ended the game victorious with a 15-1 win over the Victoria Belles, and 89 total runs scored against their opponents throughout the tournament.

Below are photos from the national tournament, captured by Erin Honsa, showcasing not only the big moments on the field, but the life-long memories the more than 80 Girls with Game made during the five-day event:
