Dear Little League®,
I wanted to express my gratitude for the incredible opportunity to participate in the Senior League Softball World Series (SLSWS) in 2022 and 2023. This experience transformed my life by allowing me to connect with international softball athletes and gain recognition on the American softball stage. It undoubtedly played a pivotal role in securing my NCAA Division I scholarship at Le Moyne College.
I will cherish the unforgettable time I spent in Delaware. The SLSWS volunteers treated us exceptionally well, prioritizing fun and enjoyment in every event and activity. The series was impeccably organized, and the facilities were simply wonderful. I had the privilege of experiencing world-class fields and facilities for the first time, which was truly remarkable. I also made lifelong friends with players from all over the globe, some of whom I still maintain contact with today.
Little League’s motto of playing fair and striving to win, while always giving your best effort regardless of the outcome, has become a guiding principle for me. I strive to embody these values in all aspects of my life.
The ESPN television coverage during both series was incredibly kind and allowed college coaches to observe my softball skills and real-time interactions with teammates. My Le Moyne College coach, for example, watched all my games and saw my performance, both during triumphs and stressful moments. This gave her a strong impression of how I could positively contribute to her team. The Canadian media market is limited, and without the SLSWS, I would not have had the exposure needed to be considered for an NCAA Division I college.
Now an NCAA Division I student athlete, I’m actively giving back to Little League. I’ve already coached my local Little League Softball program, and I look forward to possibly seeing you again as a coach at the Little League Softball® World Series.
Thank you so much for the opportunity you provided me.
