Thanks to the generous support of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Program, Twin City Little League out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has received a $25,000 Sports Matter grant to support the league’s operations and help provide additional opportunities to the children within the community. The award was presented to the league as part of the 2025 Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Pro Games at the Little League Softball World Series, Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods, on Wednesday, August 6.

“Through this financial support, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation is creating more opportunity to help create accessibility for children to participate in the Little League experience, while furthering our commitment to communities around the world,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Little League Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Business Relationship Officer. “We are grateful for our continued friendship with The Foundation and for their support of Twin City Little League’s operations and mission to provide the best overall experience for kids playing baseball and softball in their community.”

First chartering with Little League in the 1970s, the league went dormant in 2014 but has since returned to the Little League program thanks to the dedication of the league’s volunteers. Today, Twin City LL offers children within the Winston-Salem community the opportunity to take the field, build relationships, and learn life lessons through the game of baseball and softball. Twin City LL continues to thrive off their support of their network of families, local businesses, and their community sponsors to achieve their mission of providing a worthwhile experience for more than 700 youth athletes.

Focused on allowing all children, many of whom have never played baseball or softball before, the opportunity to build new relationships in the community, Twin City LL takes pride in making its program a place that kids, volunteers, and families can all call home.

“We always want what is best for our Little Leaguers” said Billy Tolliver, Twin City Little League President. “We cherish this opportunity, and believe we have the right volunteers to make our vision successful and grow the program. The goal is for our youth to pass on the legacy that they created here, whether they become board members, volunteers, or coaches in the future, we want Twin City to always be a place that they can call home.”

In 2017, DICK’S Sporting Goods partnered with Little League for a five-year $500,000 commitment, and since becoming the Official Sporting Goods Retailer of Little League, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation has provided grants and supported programs for hundreds of leagues since the inception of the foundation over a decade ago.
