Little League® International mourns the passing of Phil Winters, former Tennessee District 5 Administrator and member of the Little League International Board of Directors, dedicating years of service to hundreds of Little Leaguers®, their families, and volunteers.
Committed to giving back to his country, Winters served as a member of the United States Military for more than two decades. Upon his return, Winters gave his time to the youth athletes in his community, serving as a D.A. for many years while representing the Southeast Region as a Field Director on the Little League International Board of Directors from 2001 to 2004.
Winters was preceded in death by his first wife, Helga Winters; his daughters, Rosalie South and Susan Lipford; his great-grandson, Cameron Dishman; and his sisters, Margie Morefield and Donna Winters.
Winters will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his country, family, and Little League. His legacy and service to his community will be lived out by all who knew him.
