Little League® Celebrates National Girls and Women in Sports Day with Girls with Game Initiative

In celebration of the inspiration and success of females around the world, Little League® Baseball and Softball joins together with the Women in Sports Foundation for the 34th Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on February 5, 2020.

Celebrated alongside the award-winning Little League Girls with Game Initiative, this annually recognized day is meant to inspire girls and women to play and be active, and most importantly, realize their full power. The confidence, strength, and character gained through sports participation are the very tools girls and women need to become strong leaders in sports and life.

The theme of the 2020 NGWSD is “Lead Her Forward,” a mantra that Little League volunteers, participants, and families proudly display in communities all around the world. As part of the celebration, Little League is taking a look back at some of the more recent inspirational stories of girls and women who have helped lead the way to make the Little League program what it is today.

Along with these memorable moments, exciting events, and inspiring individuals, Little League is asking all of its volunteers, participants, and fans to share their own stories by tagging @LittleLeague on Facebook, X/Twitter, and Instagram and by using #GirlsWithGame, #NGWSD, and #LeadHerForward.

Little League will continue its celebration of #GirlsWithGame throughout the month of March in honor of Women’s History Month. To learn more about the Girls with Game Initiative, including how you can get involved, visit LittleLeague.org/GirlsWithGame.
