After nearly 19 seasons at Little League® International, Barry Grove has officially announced his retirement as the Little League Director of Information Services. With Mr. Grove’s last day set for April 7, Little League’s current Assistant Director of Information Services, Andrew Frederick, has officially been announced as the new Director.

“Barry’s service and dedication to Little League throughout his career has been a testament to the success of the Little League program as a whole,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO. “We are truly thankful for the commitment, servitude, and compassion that Barry has shown over the last 18 years, and we are excited for the future of the Little League Information Services department under the leadership of Andy in his new role.”

In March of 1999, Mr. Grove joined the Little League headquarters staff following a 35-year career at Yorktowne Cabinetry in York, Pa., where he served as the Director of Information Technology. Joining the staff nearly 19 years ago, at a time when Little League International didn’t have e-mail or a fully-functioning website, Mr. Grove has helped lead the way on the technological advancements that Little League currently uses today, such as the Little League Data Center, an integrated e-mail system, a comprehensive website, and much more.

“I’ve never considered working at Little League as a job,” said Mr. Grove. “You get to help millions of people around the world and you get to meet countless numbers of people that you never would have met otherwise.”

Mr. Frederick joined Little League in November 2015 as the Assistant Director of Information Services where he served alongside Mr. Grove for the last year and a half. During that time, Mr. Frederick has assisted with the development and transition of the Little League Data Center, worked with the mapping of the League Finder program, and has helped develop a variety of information systems to assist with operations, finance, marketing, and communications.

“Barry’s shoes are certainly going to be large to fill. He has been an excellent mentor and friend throughout this transition and he is certainly going to be missed,” said Mr. Frederick. “I am thankful to Little League for giving me this opportunity and looking forward to building upon the hard work and dedication that Barry has put into this program.”

Prior to his time at Little League, Mr. Frederick spent nearly seven years at Computer Support Services, Inc. (CSSI), where he served as Software Product Manager and as Business Development Manager. Along with his experience at CSSI, Mr. Frederick has worked for Geisinger Health System, Earthlink, Inc., and Regulation Scanning Technologies, Inc.

Mr. Frederick graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics.
