2025 DICK'S Sporting Goods Sports Matter Monday Grant Recipients - Norriton Little League

Thanks to the generous support of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Program, Norriton Little League out of Norristown, Pennsylvania has received a $25,000 Sports Matter grant to support the league’s operations and increase accessibility for children in the community. The award was presented to the league as part of the #SportsMatterMonday celebration, helping to raise awareness of the importance of youth sports, on Monday, August 18 at the Little League Baseball® World Series, Presented by T-Mobile.

“Through this financial support, The DICK’s Sporting Goods Foundation is creating more opportunity to create accessibility for children to participate in the Little League experience, while furthering our commitment to communities around the world,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Little League® Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Business Relationship Officer. “We are grateful for our foundation’s support of Norriton Little League’s operations and mission to provide the best overall experience for kids playing baseball and softball in their community.”

First chartering with Little League® in 1952, Norriton Little League provides a foundational experience for the youth, extending far beyond the baseball and softball diamond. At Norriton Little League, children learn invaluable life lessons like teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and resilience. They build confidence and develop healthy habits through physical activity, all within a safe and supportive environment. This dedication to character building ensures that their players grow not just as athletes, but as well-rounded individuals ready for future challenges.

Serving a wide range of children from diverse backgrounds across East and West Norriton, the league is a unifying force within the community, ensuring that any kid that wants to play baseball or softball has a safe, inclusive environment to play. The merging of East Norriton LL and West Norriton LL in 2022 has led to a thriving organization with a strong sense of community and shared purpose, ensuring that the spirit of Little League continues to positively impact generations to come.

“What truly sets Norriton Little League apart is it’s incredible ability to bring the community together” said Joe Ricci, Norriton Little League President. “To be recognized by Little League International at its very roots underscore the impact of our league’s work and dedication to our volunteers, coaches and athletes. We look forward to not only receiving this honor but also to deepening our connection to the rich history and spirit of Little League.”

The $25,000 grant presented to Norriton Little League comes in addition to the $25,000 grant issued earlier this month to Twin City Little League at the 2025 Little League Softball® World Series, Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods, totaling $50,000 in grant funding to programs within the Little League Urban Initiative this summer.

In 2017, DICK’S Sporting Goods partnered with Little League for a five-year $500,000 commitment, and since becoming the Official Sporting Goods Retailer of Little League, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation has provided grants and supported programs for hundreds of leagues since the inception of the foundation a decade ago.
