The excitement of the Little League® World Series doesn’t end when the final out is recorded. This winter, the World of Little League® Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store invites families, fans, and visitors of all ages to relive their favorite memories, discover the stories behind the game, and celebrate the spirit of the season with a new exhibit highlighting the personalities and traditions of the Little League Baseball and Softball World Series, opportunities to give back through its annual Toys for Tots donations, and holiday shopping at the Museum’s Official Store.
“One of the things that makes Little League so special is that the memories created on and off the field stay with families long after the season ends,” said Adam Thompson, Director of the World of Little League Museum. “Our newest exhibit brings some of those unforgettable World Series moments to life in a fun and unique way, giving visitors a chance to experience the personalities, traditions, and stories that make Little League about so much more than baseball and softball. Whether you’re discovering the Museum for the first time, returning to relive a favorite memory, or stopping by to give back this holiday season, there’s something special waiting for everyone this winter.”
NEW EXHIBIT: Stories from the LLWS™
A newly opened exhibit located in the fifth inning of the museum, Stories from the Little League World Series gives visitors a unique look at the personalities, traditions, and unforgettable moments that make the Little League Baseball® World Series about so much more than what happens on the field. Through a collection of memorable artifacts and keepsakes from participating teams, visitors can discover the fun and friendships that define the World Series experience. Currently featured items include:
- Fred the Frog from Bridgewater (Mass.) Joe Lazaro Little League (New England Region)
- A stuffed panda from Ryde Little League (Sydney, NSW – Australia Region)
- Toy ducks from East Side Little League (West Chester, Pa. – Mid-Atlantic Region)
- The celebratory team trident from Soundview Little League (Tacoma, Wash. – Northwest Region)
- The iconic bow worn by Kinley Rasmus (Phenix City (Ala.) Youth Baseball Little League – Southeast Region)
Together, these items offer a fun and personal perspective on the experiences that make Little League special for players, coaches, and families around the world. Be sure to stop by the Museum to learn more about the stories behind each of these memorable keepsakes and the journey they took to make it to Williamsport.
Toys for Tots
In the spirit of giving back this holiday season, the World of Little League Museum is once again supporting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, providing visitors with an opportunity to make a difference for children and families throughout the local community.
Now through December 11, visitors who donate a new, unwrapped toy to the Museum will receive one free Museum admission as a thank-you for their generosity. Through this annual initiative, the Museum continues its commitment to supporting local families and helping ensure more children can experience the joy of the holiday season.
