Once again Delaware District 3 World Series Committee presented an outstanding World Series for Little League. From the welcoming party to the bon fire and the games everything went very smooth.
All week long we heard numerous complements on the 20th World Series in Delaware. We even had a coach from last years winning team come and volunteer to work all week. We have fondly named Richard, Kade 2.0. We have also had the manager from Canada tell me that if he does not bring a team next year he is still coming and would like to volunteer. The people who stayed the week were outstanding. We had people at the hotel all week along with people working at the complex to make this a very successful event.
The Fenwick Island Police Department did a great job in putting together the bon fire. There were some teams that had never seen a beach or ocean before. This years crowds were bigger than most years. I think the only time we had a bigger crowd was when we hosted both Big & Senior League and Delaware had teams in both finals.
Roxana Fire Department was on site every night and on some nights ambulances from other communities volunteered. Paramedics, Sports Trainers and Delaware State Police covered us every day.
I would like to thank all of the people on our committee who worked hard all week and the people from the leagues, Lions Clubs and other groups that helped us every day. For the leagues that were unable to participate you missed a great time. For the leagues that had volunteers there please send me a list of who they were to make sure they get invited to our thank you party.
Just remember that with out you this would not have been a successful World Series. Again, Thank You – Thank You – Thank You
