The first-round matchups for the 2022 Little League Baseball® World Series were officially announced during the Chairman’s Celebration of the 28th Little League® International Congress on Howard J. Lamade Stadium. A pair of local Little Leaguers® from Pennsylvania District 12, Alexandra Maeulen and Jacob Mercado, worked with Little League’s Mascot, Dugout, to help randomly select the baseballs to decide this year’s matchups.
In addition to celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the iconic event, this year will also mark the first year of the expansion to 20 teams, with four new teams heading to Williamsport with direct entry. Based on the drawings, here are the opening matchups for the 2022 Little League Baseball World Series (all game times are Eastern Time).

The first of the 20 teams have already been decided with Aguadulce Cabezera Little League making history as Panama’s first direct entry into the tournament. The 2022 Little League Baseball World Series is set to take place on August 17-28, 2022, at the Little League International Complex in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and will be broadcasted across the ESPN Family of Networks.
