SOUTHEAST WINS LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL® WORLD SERIES, DEFEATS EAST, 4-2

Southeast jumped on East early on its way to a 4-2 win on Wednesday at Main Field in six innings, scoring four runs in the first inning.

Southeast would not relinquish the lead as East was unable to weather a four-run first inning deficit.

East scored on an RBI single by Dyonna Rodas in the third inning and a groundout by Hailey Mackinnon in the fourth inning. Despite its efforts, East couldn’t get over the hump.

Allison Ennis got a hit in each of her three at bats. She singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Kali Morton was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for Southeast. Morton allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.

Sierra Ricci was the game’s losing pitcher. She lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
