SOUTH CAROLINA’S NORTHWOOD LL WINS SOUTHEAST REGION, ADVANCES TO LITTLE LEAGUE® WORLD SERIES

Alex Edmondson was untouchable on Thursday, throwing a no-hitter in South Carolina’s Northwood LL’s 7-0 victory over Virginia’s Mechanicsville National LL.

Edmondson struck out 12 batters and walked just two while recording his momentous feat. He got Tyler Warren to strike out for the final out of the game. Edmondson also helped his cause at the plate, going 3-4 in the game with five RBIs, two runs scored, with two home runs for the team from Taylors.

The Virginia State Champions converted a triple play in the fifth inning, but the dazzling play wasn’t enough to overcome the team-effort of South Carolina. This will be the first trip to the Little League Baseball World Series for a team from South Carolina since 1950.

Northwood Little League finished the 2015 Little League Baseball Southeast Region Tournament with a 4-0 record.
