With the 2026 Little League Baseball® World Series (LLBWS), Presented by T-Mobile, quickly approaching (August 19-30), the Little League® International Complex is set to undergo some exciting enhancements to improve the player and fan experience, including a brand new roof and sign at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in time for this summer’s action.
“Every August, one of the most inspirational moments that we get to witness is the first time that the players of our World Series arrive on the complex and lay their eyes on Lamade Stadium from the top of the hill,” said Patrick Wilson, Little League President and CEO. “Knowing the impact that this iconic stadium has on people from all around the world, we wanted to not just make the necessary repairs to our facilities but enhance the overall look, feel, and experience that this complex offers so our players, volunteers, visitors, and community members can cherish their time here in a safe, world-class setting.”

Upgrades at Howard J. Lamade Stadium
A bucket-list destination for fans from all around the world, Howard J. Lamade Stadium is set to undergo necessary roof replacement with new protective netting around the seating area of the stadium in advance of the 2026 LLBWS event. The biggest upgrade will be a brand-new, modernized sign to sit atop the area behind home plate. These enhancements are the latest steps contributing to the development of this iconic venue that first opened in 1959, which most recently included new stadium lighting in 2022 in coordination with the celebration of a 30-year partnership with Musco Sports Lighting. These new updates are anticipated to be completed prior to the Maria Pepe Little League Baseball Legacy Series on June 5-7.
Earlier this year, Howard J. Lamade Stadium and the LLBWS were also named recipients of SportsEvents Magazine 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards – All-Star Outdoor Venue and All-Star Sporting Event, respectively – while Lamade Stadium also earned the honor of USA Today Sports Editors’ Top Picks Top 50 Best Sports Landmark to visit.
Increased Fan Walking Areas and Experience
Additional enhancements are being made across the complex to enhance the overall experience for the hundreds of thousands of visitors who attend the event each summer, including a brand-new walking path to bring fans from the main entrance to the Flagship Store near Volunteer Stadium.
Additional enhancements coming in 2026 include a bottle filling station in the restroom near the Fan Zone, temporary restroom location being added near the Main Entrance of the complex (accessed at 617 E. Mountain Ave), as well as widened walking paths along Borderline Road to enhance pedestrian safety and provide an increased experience for visitors.
New Fan Plaza Experience Coming in 2027
Currently scheduled to debut in advance of the 2027 LLBWS, one of the biggest improvements to the Little League International Complex is the development of a brand-new Fan Plaza which will be constructed in the area between the Flagship Store and the Pavilion, giving fans and visitors one of the most unique places to enjoy their time on the complex. In addition to the fun and excitement provided in the Fan Zone, the new Fan Plaza will feature increased seating opportunities, shaded areas, partner and donor recognition area, and more for families and fans to gather and meet people from all around the world. Among the centerpiece of the Fan Plaza will also be the seven-foot, stainless steel globe that was developed in coordination with the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2025 to showcase the worldwide impact of the program. As a mission-driven nonprofit, Little League’s revenues are used to remove barriers and create access and opportunities for kids to experience the Little League baseball and softball program. Each year, Little League International pays for the housing, travel for international and domestic teams, meals, and accommodations for all teams who compete at all seven World Series tournaments. The cost of operating Little League’s Region Tournaments and the seven World Series Tournaments totals more than $12.5 million annually, with the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport costing approximately $7.5 million alone, as part of Little League’s overall annual operating budget.
