World of Little League® Museum and Official Store to Host Art Event on Sunday, March 10

Painting for March 2019 Art Event

On Sunday, March 10, from 2 to 5 p.m., the World of Little League® Museum and Official Store will be hosting another memorable Art at the Museum Event, offering participants a chance to join local artist and owner of Wistart Studio in Hughesville, Amanda M. Emig, to paint an iconic piece of art.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming Amanda back to our Museum for this exciting event, and encourage anyone who is interested in this event, regardless of skill level, to sign up and take part of this memorable experience,” said Lance Van Auken, Little League® Vice President and Executive Director of the Museum. “Our previous Art at the Museum event provided our visitors with educational instruction and a memorable experience that they can share with their friends and family in a unique environment. We can’t wait to see everyone out at the Museum on March 10 for another exciting event.”

For $30 per person, each participant will be provided art supplies, an 11×14 inch canvas, and step-by-step instruction by Mrs. Emig to create a memorable spring painting using a Pop Art style concept. The painting will feature ‘snacks at the ball park,’ using bright, primary colors to provide a comic-book feel.

“I enjoy providing the instruction for paintings, though what I enjoy even more is the look participants have when they just can’t seem to believe they painted something worthy of hanging on their wall,” said Mrs. Emig. “This painting is sure to build more confidence. I will walk each of our participants through the painting step-by-step, and painters are always welcome to add their own ideas!”

Reservations are required and should be made before Friday, March 1, by contacting the Museum at (570) 326-3607 or at Facebook.com/WistartStudio. No experience is necessary to register and participation is open to all ages and skill levels.

Participants may arrive prior to the event to visit the Museum at no charge. Personal masterpieces may be taken home before the Museum closes for the day. Additional information about the project is available on the Museum’s Facebook page.
