Little League® International Mourns the Passing of Former Illinois District 6 Umpire-In-Chief Bill Hyman

Little League® International mourns the passing of Bill Hyman, former Illinois District 6 Umpire-in-Chief. He was 76.

Mr. Hyman, a native of Chicago, first volunteered with South Shore Little League, serving as a manager and coach in the league’s baseball and softball programs. Continuing his volunteer commitment to the Little League program, Mr. Hyman served as Illinois District 6 Umpire-In-Chief for nearly 20 years.

During his time as a volunteer umpire, he officiated the Big League Softball World Series in Kalamazoo, Mich., and the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

From 2015-to-2017, Mr. Hyman was a member of the Junior League Softball Central Region Tournament staff.

Mr. Hyman is survived by his wife, Patricia, one son and daughter-in-law, and one grandchild.
