Little League® International Honors the Life of Former Virginia District 7 Administrator Joseph “Ross” Phillips

Little League® International remembers former Virginia District 7 Administrator Joseph “Ross” Phillips. He was 79.

Mr. Phillips, a native of Canada, relocated to Hampton, Virginia to join the Unites States military.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Phillips worked professionally as a mechanical engineer with the National Aeronautical and Space Agency (NASA) for 36 years.

After two years as an Assistant District Administrator for Virginia District 7, Mr. Phillips was elected as D.A. in 1987 and held the position until 2006. Following his years as District Administrator, he worked tirelessly in support of the Little League Challenger Division®. Mr. Phillips also volunteered his time at Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, as a member of the event’s security staff.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dorothy Phillips, and sisters, Beverly, and Diane. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay; daughter, Mischelle; son, Joe; brother, Keith; grandchildren, James, Kristy, and Heather; and 10 great grandchildren.
