CRANSTON WESTERN LITTLE LEAGUE FROM CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND WINS NEW ENGLAND REGION, ADVANCES TO LITTLE LEAGUE® WORLD SERIES

Rhode Island used some timely power hitting to capture the New England Region Championship, beating New Hampshire’s Bedford LL, 10-4. Home runs for Rhode Island’s Cranston Western LL came when Nick Mason homered in the third inning, Dylan Demers homered in the third inning, and Jared Olson homered in the fourth inning.

Demers had two extra-base hits for Rhode Island. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.

Cam Adamec got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over four innings. Adamec struck out four, walked four and gave up four hits.

Olson, Demers and Mason helped lead Rhode Island. They combined for five hits and six RBIs.

Rhode Island built upon its lead with five runs in the third. A blast by Mason ignited the offense,, scoring David Marchetti, Olson and Adamec. That was followed up by Demers’ solo home run.

Cranston Western Little League finished the 2015 Little League Baseball New England Region Tournament with a 4-1 record. The New England Region Champion will face off against the Southeast Region Champion in the first round of the Little League Baseball World Series on Friday, Aug. 21, at 4 p.m., at Lamade Stadium. The Southeast Region Championship was won by Northwood Little League from Taylors, South Carolina. For more information on the Southeast Region Tournament, click here. Over the course of 10 days, 32 games will be played in the Little League Baseball World Series, concluding with the Little League Baseball World Series Championship Game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30.
