In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, local leagues may require additional financial support to maintain operations. Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding Grant Resources for local leagues.
This resource provides a basic listing of local, state, and national grant funding opportunities that local leagues may be eligible for, as well as additional information to assist leagues in applying for a variety of grants.
Little League International is committed to providing direct financial support to our leagues and working with our partners on programs specifically for our local Little League programs and families. This is not intended to be a comprehensive list nor is it representative of all grant opportunities by outside organizations that may exist. Specific grant opportunities that Little League has researched are available and can be found at LittleLeague.org/GrantResources. If you are aware of another grant opportunity that is not listed, but would like us to be aware of for consideration on this page, please email it to Grants@LittleLeague.org.
We encourage that you contact your local District Administrator (D.A.) for a letter of recommendation. If you do not know your District Administrator, you can find contact information in the Little League Data Center.
We understand that this may be a new process for many of our volunteers, so we encourage you to visit our Grant Writing Tips page for additional guidance. While we know this will not provide you with all the details you may need, it will help you get started and hopefully answer some of the questions you have. For specific questions regarding individual grant applications, we recommend you contact the funding organization directly.
It is important to open a strong line of communication and be transparent about the needs your league is facing. We recommend that you work closely with your local municipality or community leaders to discuss possible field renovations and improvements and perhaps cooperatively fill out grant applications. If you utilize a municipally or city-owned facility, your league should work closely with the entity to ensure the league recognizes the full return of any grant funds or other fundraising efforts over time.
If there are no grants listed on our website specific to your area, we encourage you to research grant opportunities and connect locally with your municipal leaders and recreation authorities as well as explore the national grant opportunities that may be available. In addition, if you are aware of another grant opportunity that is not listed, but would like us to be aware of for consideration on this page, please email it to Grants@LittleLeague.org.
Every organization that issues grant opportunities follows its own cycle. These cycles can include rolling submission deadlines, firm deadlines once a year, or multiple application periods each year. If the grant you selected shows that there is currently no grant available, be sure to check to see what the posted application period is in case it has concluded for that cycle. If you can’t find an application period, we would suggest that you contact the grant provider for more information.
We also encourage you to explore additional grants that may be applicable in your community that may not be listed here.
Please note that Little League does not have control or influence over any of these grant organizations, deadlines, applications or funding cycles. Any questions regarding these grants must be directed to the organization issuing the grant.
Unfortunately, every league has its own unique circumstances and the eligibility requirements for each grant vary, so it would be inappropriate for Little League International to determine which grants each league would qualify for. It is the responsibility of each league to determine which grants they may be eligible to apply for.
If you have questions about a specific grant, they should be addressed to the organization issuing the grant. This contact information can typically be found on their respective website.
The majority of these grants are funded by third-party foundations, government entities or other business or commercial entities. Little League is not affiliated with, nor do we specifically endorse, any of these grants or the organizations that fund them. This page is intended to act as a resource for local leagues seeking additional grant opportunities.
Little League is in no way responsible for the grant opportunities listed on this website, nor can it determine if your league is qualified to receive any funding. Little League encourages you to fully research these opportunities and contact the grantor for more information.
