Little League recommends that leagues verify proof of age documentation at the time of registration but does not recommend keeping copies of birth certificates on file. It is the responsibility of each local board of directors to ensure that all participants meet age and eligibility requirements. Copies of birth certificates are no longer required to be carried with tournament documentation, although the District Administrator must verify the age of all tournament participants by viewing the original birth certificate for each tournament participant prior to the start of the tournament.
