Central Region: Umpire School
April 23 @ 4:00 pm - April 28 @ 12:00 pm$200 – $300
Your training will include the latest rule interpretations, mechanics, signaling, and procedures used. The Central Region staff of instructors will help you adapt these professional techniques to your personal level of umpiring. Special attention will be given to the wedge theory, angle/distance theory, solving timing problems, handling conflicts, and staying focused for any possible situation.
The plate instruction will include extensive concentration on your plate stance. Your plate work in the cage will be video taped to improve your view of the strike zone and enhance your plate mechanics.
This program is based on solid educational principles: lecture, demonstration, drill and supervised application. Simulated game exercises and actual live games will enable you to experience many umpiring situations. Our instructors will explain the proper handling of each situation.
A comprehensive survey of the rule book coupled with open discussion, moves your working knowledge of the rules to a new level.
