SOUTHEAST WINS JUNIOR SOFTBALL WORLD SERIES, DEFEATS ASIA-PACIFIC, 9-2

A five-run explosion in the second inning lifted Southeast to a 9-2 win in seven innings over Asia-Pacific at Field A on Saturday.

Southeast scored in the second on an RBI double by Mackenzie Herman, a sacrifice fly by Cassidy Renninger, an RBI double by Chloe Boos, and an RBI single by Lani Trent.

Boos put herself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for Southeast.

Renninger picked up the win for Southeast. Renninger pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out five.

Jojielyn Lim racked up two RBIs on one hit for Asia-Pacific. She homered in the third inning.

Southeast was sparked by Boos and Trent, who teamed up for six hits and four RBIs.
