Little League® Representatives From Europe and Africa Gather for Regional Meeting

Volunteers from over 20 countries gathered together to discuss ideas and strategies to help develop Little League in the Europe and Africa Region.

On October 8, more than 25 volunteers, including District Administrators from 20 countries across Europe and Africa, gathered together for the 2016 Europe and Africa Regional Meeting in Warsaw, Poland, supported by the Copernicus Society of America. Along with Little League® Europe and Africa Regional Staff members, members of Major League Baseball, Confederation of European Baseball, and European Softball Federation participated in the meetings to provide insight on the various topics.

“This weekend was a great opportunity to get all of our dedicated volunteers together and collaborate with our partners at MLB, CEB, and ESF to continually strengthen and grow the Little League program throughout the region,” said Dan Velte, Little League Senior Director of League Development and Regional Operations. “The members of our Europe and Africa Region have been working hard to enhance the experience of the Little League program and we are excited to see what the future holds.”

Some of the key topics that were discussed at the Regional meeting include utilization of the League Finder’s electronic mapping system, benefits of affiliating with Little League, growing efforts to promote the digital effort across the Europe and Africa Region, and a group seminar on best practices.
