Little League® International mourns the passing of Gerald Murphy, Jr., New Jersey District 14 Administrator. He was 60.
Mr. Murphy, a resident of Gloucester City, N.J., and 1979 graduate of Gloucester City High School, worked as an electrician for 38 years with I.B.E.W Local 98 in Philadelphia.
Elected as New Jersey District Administrator in 2003, Mr. Murphy began his service to the Little League program in 1989. He spent two seasons volunteering as a team manager before his election as a League President. During his time as D.A., Mr. Murphy attended four Little League International Congresses.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Sherle; sons, Adam, and Gerald III; daughter, Brianna; six grandchildren; brother, Michael; and sisters, Debbie, and Joan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald, Sr., and Anna Murphy, and sister, Peggy.
