2019 Little League Baseball World Series – August 15 – 25

Three Pitchers Rally Team for No-Hitter; Southeast Topples New England, 3-0

The second game of the 2019 Little League Baseball® World Series was dominated by the pitching of Loudoun South Little League’s Justin Lee, Liam Thyen, and Chase Obstgarten. The trio combined for nine strikeouts and no hits allowed in the Southeast Region Champion’s 3-0 triumph over the New England Region Champion, Barrington (R.I.) Little League.

Thyen was the winning pitcher, not allowing a walk and fanning six in 2 2/3 innings. Obstgarten threw two-thirds of an inning in relief, recording the last two outs to earn the save for Southeast.

LLBWS Tournament

Alex Anderson took the mound loss for New England. He went 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, striking out three, and walking one.

Offensively for Loudoun South Little League, Brady Yates was 2-for-3, highlighted by a home run in the fifth inning. Lee also added two hits to the nine-hit attack.
