Late Runs Lift Elmora Youth Little League Past Barrington Little League, 2-0

The Mid-Atlantic Region Champions from Elizabeth, N.J., and New England’s Barrington (R.I.) Little League battled each other to a scoreless tie through five innings, but in the final frame of regulation Sal Garcia and J.R. Rosado tilted the game in Elmora Youth Little League’s favor in a 2-0 triumph Tuesday night at Lamade Stadium.

Sal began the winning rally with a double, but the key hit came off the bat of Jayden Capindica. His RBI single plated Sal and J.R., who had reached on a walk. This put the New Jersey team up by two, and they managed to hold onto the lead to secure the victory.

Mid-Atlantic relied on four different pitchers in their victory. They started Sal Garcia, before pitching Derek Escobar, J.R. Rosado, and Jayden Capindica. They let up only one hit, struck out six, and walked four. They were strong in the field, letting up no errors.
