Little League® International Remembers Former West Virginia District 6 Administrator James Wasson, Jr.

Little League® International mourns the passing of James Wasson, Jr., former West Virginia District 6 Administrator. He was 81.

A native of Hedgesville, W. Va., Mr. Wasson, was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Professionally, he was a mechanic, employed by Corning Glass Works.

In 1964, Mr. Wasson was a founding member of Martinsburg (W. Va.) Little League and served as a coach, manager, and umpire. After his election as District Administrator, he served in that capacity for 15 years (1987-2002).

Mr. Wasson is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, James and John Skelly; daughters, Deborah Walker and Kristin Skelly; two brothers, Alvin Poisal and Randy Wasson; two sisters, Eileen Young and Sherry Malatt; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca; one brother, William; and four sisters, Edna Hite, Judy McVey, Dorothy Kilmer, and Peggy Wasson-Gano.
