Little League® International Honors the Memory of TR Sloan, Big League Baseball World Series Umpire Coordinator

Little League® International remembers Terry R. “TR” Sloan, Jr., former Big League Baseball World Series Umpire Coordinator. He was 58.

A native of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Mr. Sloan was a 1981 graduate of Aiken (S.C.) High School; and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Clemson University. His professional path led him to positions with DuPont, Michelin, and Hitachi Electronic Devices. At the time of his passing, he was employed as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Company in Greenville, S.C.

Mr. Sloan volunteered his time to Little League as an umpire, officiating in various divisions of play. For several tournament seasons, Mr. Sloan gave his time to assist with coordinating the umpire activities for the Big League Baseball World Series (2001-2015), and later, the Senior League Baseball World Series (2016-to-present), both played in Easley S.C.

Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Trey, stepson Will Johnson; daughter, Emily; granddaughter, Ivy Ann; and sister, Bridget. He was preceded in death by his parents, Terry and Rita Sloan.
