BOWLING GREEN EASTERN LITTLE LEAGUE FROM BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY WINS GREAT LAKES REGION, ADVANCES TO LITTLE LEAGUE® WORLD SERIES

An eight-run explosion in the second inning carried Kentucky’s Bowling Green Eastern LL to a 13-0 win in four innings over Wisconsin’s Burlington LL at Stokely Field on Saturday.

Bowling Green Eastern LL scored in the second on an RBI single by John Morrison, a home run by Tayshaun Jones, a sacrifice fly by Maddox Burr, an error, and an RBI single by Devin Obee.

Jones racked up four RBIs on one hit for Kentucky.

Bowling Green’s Eli Burwash kept Wisconsin off the scoreboard for all four innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing only three hits while ringing up seven.

Bowling Green Eastern Little League finished the 2015 Little League Baseball Great Lakes Region Tournament with a 3-1 record. The Great Lakes Region Champion will face off against the West Region Champion in the first round of the Little League Baseball World Series on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m., at Lamade Stadium. The West Region Championship is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug. 15. For more information on the West Region Tournament, click here. Over the course of 10 days, 32 games will be played in the Little League Baseball World Series, concluding with the Little League Baseball World Series Championship Game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30.
