Little League® International Remembers California District 31 Administrator Larry Burch

Little League® International mourns the passing of Larry Burch, California District 31 Administrator.

Mr. Burch, a resident of Oceanside, Calif., was elected as a District Administrator (D.A.) in 1995. He received his 20-year service pin in 2014, before stepping down as D.A. in September 2015. Mr. Burch served on The Little League International President’s Advisory Board from 2013-to-2016.

“Larry was one of our most effective and valued Little League volunteer leaders and, more importantly, he was one of the finest people I’ve known in my 37-year tenure with Little League International,” said Stephen D. Keener, Little League President and CEO. “We will miss him dearly.”

A Facility Maintenance Technician for U-Haul Company of Oceanside, Mr. Burch was a Little League graduate, and dedicated nearly 25 years of volunteer service to Little Leagues throughout San Diego County.

As California District 31 Administrator, Mr. Burch oversaw the operation of 16 local leagues. Beginning in 1992, he could be heard on the radio, providing play-by-play for regional tournament games played in San Bernardino, Calif. Mr. Burch retired from the airways in 2012.

Mr. Birch, who is survived by his wife, Ingrid, was among the delegates invited to the seven most recent Little League International Congresses (1995, Reno, Nev.; 1998, San Antonio; 2001, Ottawa, Canada; 2004, Virginia Beach, Va.; 2007, Houston; 2010, Lexington, Ky.; and 2014, Minneapolis, Minn.).
