2019 Senior League Softball World Series: July 29 – August 4

Delaware, Texas Advance to the Final

Game 25: DE District 3 needed both of their pitching aces to shut down the powerful Central team from Michigan Saturday. Central still pounded out 11 hits and took advantage of 4 Dist 3 errors while scoring 7 runs.

Both teams led during the game, and Central scored 2 in the top of the 6th to tie, but Couri Smith homered to lead off the 6th, and Jada Evans set down Central in order in the 7th to secure the win. Kate Evik hit a 2 run homer earlier in the game, Jada Evans also had 2 RBI’s. For Central, Payton Perrin batted 4 for 4, and Alyssa Braam took the complete game loss, fanning 4 in the game.

Game 26: The game started with Asia-Pacific scoring a run in the first, but their ace pitcher, Kacelyn Valino struggled to get outs after putting up 2 strikes on batters. Southwest, scored 2 in the bottom of the first, and  scored 3 runs in the third, fourth and fifth, pounding out 13 hits including 3 doubles (two by Hannah Boetcher) and home runs from Daniella Ramirez and Boetcher. Daniella Ramirez batted 4 for 4 with 6 RBI’s to help lead the Texas attack.

Asia Pacific made it interesting in the top of the 7th, as they mounted a comeback, chasing starter Kennedy Parker, but Madaly Martinez stepped up to shut down Asia Pacific’s bats and earn a save.

Game 27 is Sunday – First pitch is 2:08 PM. Southwest is home, DE Dist 3 is the visiting team.
