2019 Intermediate 50/70 Baseball World Series: July 28 – August 4

Volunteer

What Can I Volunteer To Do?

No experience is required to become a volunteer. Most of the volunteer opportunities require little or no training. See volunteer position descriptions below.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! Across the country, volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, neighbors, and more. Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply. When you apply to become a volunteer, you give the local Little League organization the right to conduct necessary background checks.  We welcome those who are trying to complete community service hours, as well!

Have questions? Or want to volunteer for something not on the list? Email us at [email protected].

It’s NEVER too late to sign-up to volunteer.  Our World Series event is always around the last week of July/first week of August, so feel free to email us at [email protected] if you would like to get on the email list to be notified about next year’s event as soon as we have the dates set.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST!

Volunteer Positions

  • Bus Coordinator

The responsibilities of the Bus Coordinators are to make sure that teams are getting to the fields in a timely fashion and helping with any issues in finding buses, bus schedules, etc. Bus Coordinators may be riding the bus between the field and hotel, as needed. This is a super important job, as most of our teams aren’t from this area … and we can’t have games if our teams can’t find the field.

  • Scorekeepers

The responsibilities of our scorekeepers will be to keep an accurate scorebook or pitch count throughout an entire game. Previous scorekeeping experience is required. Scorekeepers are needed for both the scorebook and GameChanger. Scorekeepers must have had experience keeping score for Little League’s Intermediate Division.

  • Scoreboard Operators

Scoreboard operators are needed for many scoreboards during the game. The main scoreboard operator runs the main scoreboard, showing scores, strikes, balls, etc on the scoreboard displayed out in the field.  This scoreboard operator will also count pitches on a pitch count sheet. There is a second scoreboard operator who will run the scoreboard animations at the top of the board. No experience is needed for this position. You will need to attend a training on the running of the scoreboard.

  • Security

The responsibilities of our security team will be to provide assistance to attendees as needed, walk the grounds and parking lots, and help where needed throughout the day.

  • Program & Raffle Ticket Sales

Program and raffle ticket sale volunteers will help distribute our beautiful souvenir programs to guests at the games and help sell raffle tickets in the middle of the game, for the 50/50 raffle.

  • Batting Cage Liaisons

Batting cage liaisons will help supervise the batting cages while teams are in them to make sure that batting cage safety rules are followed and to help with any questions/issues that may arise during practice. This is a great way to meet the teams and be a part of the pregame warm-ups.

  • Volunteer Coordinator

Our volunteer coordinator will check-in volunteers as they arrive. They will direct volunteers to their positions and answer questions. Our volunteer coordinator will distribute shirts, candy, water and other fun volunteer perks. This is a fun way to meet people and to help us make sure that our volunteers know how appreciated they are.

  • Batting Lineup Distribution

These volunteers will help getting the free souvenir batting lineup sheet out to fans before the game. Fans love to have these sheets and will look forward to seeing you in the stands and outfield.

  • Morning Pin Booth Set-Up

This is a very important job getting our pin booth set up in the morning. It doesn’t take long, but it is very much appreciated by our district guys who run the booth each day.

  • Evening Pin Booth Shut Down

This job also doesn’t take long, but helps our district guys get all of the valuable pins put away during the end of the last game.

  • After Event Clean-Up

If you aren’t able to help with anything else, this would be the day to be there! Those of us who have been at the games all week are usually exhausted by the time Monday comes along!  We would LOVE your help to get everything from the week’s event put away and safely stored for next year.

  • Uniform Distribution

Help us get the uniforms distributed to our players and coaches before the games and fun start.

  • Souvenir Sales

A select group of volunteers who manage the selling of souvenirs, shirts, pins and more, from the World Series Souvenir trailer.
