2018 Little League Baseball World Series – August 16 – 26

New England Tops Australia In Consolation Game

Australia watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-0 loss to New England on Monday. New England took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Australia struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing New England, giving up 15 runs.

New England got on the board in the first inning. New England scored one run when Kody Fretts singled.

One bright spot for Australia was a single by Thomas Calvert in the second inning.

Will Owens pitched New England to victory. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five. Nolan LaPerche threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Jake Calver took the loss for Australia. He went three innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out one.

Tommy Turner started the game for New England. He went one-third of an inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking one
Thomas, William Baker, and Tyler Salmon-Patrick each collected one hit to lead Australia.

New England racked up ten hits on the day. Tommy and Noah McParlin each managed multiple hits for New England. Tommy led New England with four hits in four at bats.
