2018 Little League Baseball World Series – August 16 – 26

Japan Doubles Up Latin America, 4-2

Japan took home a 4-2 victory over Latin America on Sunday.

Japan got on the board in the first inning when Shisei Fujimoto homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Shinji Furusawa earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Japan. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out three.

Adan Sanchez took the loss for Latin America. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out nine.

Masato Igarashi started the game for Japan. He surrendered two runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out seven.

Japan tallied one home run on the day. Shisei went deep in the first inning.

Eisaku Nakajima, Shinji, Yudai Yuasa, and Shisei each managed one hit to lead Japan. Japan was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Masaumi Ikeuchi made the most plays with ten.
