Despite allowing four runs in the sixth inning, Iowa defeated N/S Dakota 7-4 on Saturday. N/S Dakota batters contributing to the big inning included Landon Meier, Andrew Kankelfritz, and Tommy Simon, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Iowa tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Connor Duong, Brody Watson, and Alex Stewart all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Brody was the winning pitcher for Iowa. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out eight.
Drew Rerick took the loss for N/S Dakota. He surrendered three runs on five hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Iowa launched one home run on the day. Connor had a dinger in the third inning.
Iowa saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Connor and Alex each collected multiple hits for Iowa. Alex and Connor each collected two hits to lead Iowa.
N/S Dakota was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Adam Leininger made the most plays with nine.
