Honolulu Little League, from Honolulu, Hawaii captured the 2018 Little League Baseball® West Regional Championship by defeating Tri City Little League, from Rocklin, California, 11-2.
Sean Yamaguchi drove in four on three hits to lead Hawaii past Northern California 11-2 on Saturday. Yamaguchi drove in runs on a home run in the first, a single in the fourth, and a single in the fifth.

Northern California fired up the offense in the first inning. Tyler Allen grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the first inning, Hawaii tied things up at two when Yamaguchi homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Hawaii pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. Bruce Boucher drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hawaii tallied four runs in the fifth inning. Kaolu Holt, Jace Souza, Aukai Kea, and Yamaguchi each had RBIs in the big inning.
Kea was the winning pitcher for Hawaii. He allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out 13. Yamaguchi threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Nathan Erickson took the loss for Northern California. He allowed ten hits and nine runs over four innings, striking out three.
Hawaii racked up 13 hits. Yamaguchi, Kea, and Mana Lau Kong all managed multiple hits for Hawaii. Yamaguchi went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Hawaii in hits. Hawaii was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Boucher made the most plays with 16.
Nathan led Northern California with two hits in two at bats.
