2018 Little League Baseball World Series – August 16 – 26

The Day in Pictures: Mets, Phillies visit 2018 Little League Baseball® World Series

The second annual MLB Little League Classic played Sunday night at Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pa., featured the National League East Rival New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies.

Earlier in the day, the Mets and Phillies players visited the Little League International complex. During that time, the teams watched some Little League Baseball® World Series action, visited Major League Baseball’s Play Ball Park, and tour the Creighton J. Hale International Grove, the housing complex that the World Series teams call home for the two-week tournament.

The trip was a reunion of sorts for Mets’ third baseman Todd Frazier, who won the Little League Baseball World Series in 1998 as a member of the Toms River (N.J.) East American Little League. Several of Todd’s Little League teammates were in hand to celebrate Todd’s return to Williamsport.

Frazier’s teammate Michael Conforto; and the Phillies’ Scott Kingery are also LBWS alums, and the trio where honored with one-of-a-kind commemorative portraits during an in-field ceremony.

Hours after reliving their childhood highlights, Frazier, Conforto, Kingery and their teammates thrilled the crowd of Little Leaguers, volunteers, guests over nine innings of big league ball.
